And none of this would have been possible if I hadn’t embraced this truth: Writing is not just about skill. It’s about identity, purpose, and stewardship. Today, I want to tell you how this journey really began. Because chances are, you’re standing where I once stood.
The Encounter
Many people don’t know this, but I didn’t start my writing journey as an “author.” I started as a blogger. Back in 2017/2018, I ran a blog called Tilt the Nations. When I got pregnant with my first son, I started documenting my motherhood journey there. One post titled Motherhood: The Game Changer, spread farther than I expected, and someone commented that they loved how I wrote… and that if I ever wrote a book, they’d read it. That was the first seed.
By the end of 2019, the thought of writing a book had fully entered my heart, and by 2020, it grew even louder. It was at the end of June in 2020, during the lockdown, that I asked God a simple question: “What would You have me do with the rest of this year?”And the answer was loud: Write your book.
I was so excited. I bought a fresh journal and started writing, but excitement is not enough to birth the promise. Life started happening, so I got busy and eventually stopped. I was already drifting into normalcy until I had an encounter.
I had woken up one morning with such a heavy burden for my book, The Birthing, so I thought to check a Facebook group of authors that my friend, Nneka, sent me days before. I was scrolling through when I saw it. I saw my first book idea right there. Same title. Same concept. Same cover. Only problem? It wasn’t my name on it. My eyes nearly fell out of my face.
The irony? The author was another light-skinned Igbo girl like me.
I wanted to cry, but I caught myself. I quickly realized what was happening, repented, and decided to get help. That was the final push I needed to commit to bringing my book to life, no matter what. I paid a book-writing coach $500, and from September 2020 to January 1st, 2021, I wrote and submitted my manuscript. And everything changed after that.
Lesson 1 - Visions don’t expire; they just change hands
The Pivot
The year 2021 marked me. I didn’t know it at the time, but looking back now, I can say it plainly: that year split my life into before and after.
2021 was the year I published my first book. It was the year I released The Birthing into the world and hosted my first-ever virtual event, The Birthing Bootcamp. I had incredible speakers. Phenomenal women. The kind of people you look at and think, “How did God even connect me to these humans?” It was nothing short of grace.
Then, December arrived, and my official book launch took place.
If you’ve ever launched a book or, honestly, anything worthwhile, you know that feeling. It feels like your birthday… and your child’s birthday… and Christmas… all rolled into one. I was so full of joy, hope, and expectation. My book was on Amazon. I was already mentally planning all the places the book would go, all the rooms it would enter, all the conversations it would start.
I stepped into 2022 with expectation. I was ready to hit the ground running, only for February to land a plot twist I didn’t see coming. I found out I was pregnant with my second child. I hadn’t planned or envisioned it, but Motherhood took over.
I couldn’t do all the things I had envisioned for 2022. My pace slowed, my capacity shifted, and my body and emotions had a completely different agenda. But even in the midst of the stressful pregnancy I had, God gave me grace for one thing: Unbundling the decade
It was one of my mentors' programs that I had already gone through the year before, and they needed support coaches, so I volunteered to serve.
As we were starting the program, we had a meeting where my procoach, PDDK, began to prophesy. She said she saw that God had raised me as a midwife for visionaries in this hour. Then she did something powerful - she permitted me to find the expression of that prophecy within the program.
Now here’s the funny part. The program wasn’t about book writing at all. But somehow… someway… a side group emerged. Because apparently, many people in the cohort were either planning to write books, preparing to write books, or carrying the desire to write books.
That was how Unbundling Authors was born. And because I had just gone through my own writing journey in 2021, I knew a thing or two. Plus, you know me, I’m a learner to the core. Anything I invest in, I learn deeply because I believe every assignment carries transferable wisdom for someone else. So I taught.
And that became my first-ever training on book writing and publishing.

The Mandate
By the time we stepped into 2023, it was clear to me that there was actually something here. I didn’t fully understand it yet, but the feedback was undeniable. Seeing people birth books after being taught what I knew was doing something to my spirit.
A lot shifted in 2023. I wrote two more books, and I was named one of the Top 50 Inspiring Authors in Nigeria, but one of the most significant things was stepping into a coaching program with Coach Nike Folagbade. During the program, we were given a task that led me into a 10-day fast. I began to ask deep questions.
“What is this mandate about?”
“What does this mean for my future?”
“What exactly are you calling me to do in this season?”
It was during this time that God clarified the assignment: To raise young women, young mothers, Africans, as scribes and soldiers for His Kingdom agenda.
It was an encounter I won’t forget in a hurry. I documented it. Sat with it. Asked more questions. And because I’ve been taught well, I knew revelation without execution is incomplete obedience. So I acted and released the first version of my coaching program - The Birthing Bootcamp.
Men and brethren…..guess what happened? Nobody signed up. Not even a single soul asked questions or inquired about the program. It was so weird and discouraging.
“How can God show me something and nobody responds?” I wondered.
So I decided to step back and put it aside. Then I stepped into 2024 with my destiny sisters - the ones I plan, pray, and process vision with. And two of us concluded that it was time for VCAP- the most intensive program for visionary leaders of African Descent, the Visionary Compass Accelerator Program.
I came into the program thinking it would be about my ESL career. But very quickly, it became clear that the real reason I was there was this same assignment. I repositioned and returned to the mandate. I did the rigorous groundwork. Clarified the vision. Corrected my mistakes. Built structure.
And that’s how Scribe Secrets was born.
In 2024, I hosted Scribe Secrets 1.0. It wasn’t loud or flashy. But it was authentic and strategic. By the end of that year, six books had been birthed through the teachings, webinars, and programs I hosted. In that same year, I had my first paid clients, and by 2025, we hosted the biggest virtual authors’ event of the year - Scribe Secrets 2.0.
And it all started because I wrote one book.
